My Suuuuuppppeeeerrrr Late December Post

December 2010 is the busiest months for me. There are so many memorable happenings but also one of the most stressful month in my year. I should have different entries for each but I am too lazy to wrote every details so here are some of the highlights of my happy and sad December.

1st Week of December:

Went to Legaspi and Naga with my office ka-berks. The usual gang invade the Bicol region during December 3 and 4. AM, RS, JG and I were having a blast site seeing the beautiful Mount Mayon and visiting the Camarines Sur Sports Complex. Also I would really like to extend my warm thanks for AM and her family for accommodating us in her grandparent's house for an overnight stay. :)

2nd Week of December:

JG and I toured the UP Diliman campus and he was really glad to show me around his college Alma Mater. Actually it was an unplanned Saturday gala since he had a get together with his HS best friends later in the evening. The UP Diliman sidetrip happened because he invited me to try Banapple restaurant in Katipunan. It all started while we were having dessert at Pizza Hut in the Fort a week earlier. He recommended to me that Banapple's Banoffee pie is delicious and affordable so we decided to try it one weekend. (I need to ask for the pics of the delicious lunch we had at Banapple)

3rd Week of December:

- Preparations for our Christmas Party. I was sooo stressed looking for a Hawaiian costume for the party. We are required to wear Hawaiian costume since our party will be held at Mandarin Poolside. We also had an unexpected win for our Hyperglee Christmas party performance. This was also the week where our good friend MR leave the Philippines to join her future husband in Singapore.

A Week Before Christmas:

I find this the most magical week before Christmas. This week was full of dinners and get together with friends. I was strolling with a good friend around Greenbelt and Bonifacio High Street during the evenings and had great dinner conversations. December 24, proven to be stressful one but came out as the memorable day of my year. I won't say so much details but I had a wonderful time cruising Ortigas Center before the Christmas day with a friend... But come December 25 that is another story... :(

Last Week Before New Year:

This is my hell week and will continuously provide my suffering. No more, no less. I won't put the gory details because I want to forget everything and as much as possible keep an open mind about the whole thing...

Twilight VS. New Moon

Last weekend, me and my friends were able to watch the long anticipated 2nd book of Twilight Saga - New Moon. We were all excited to see the additional casts. I must admit last year I was quite disappointed with the Twilight movie since there are some important scenes in the book that were not included. However, after the release of the New Moon official trailer last June, I was dumbfounded and too excited to see the next series.

These are some of my observations regarding on the two movies and the comparisons between them:

TWILIGHT

Likes:

1. The Baseball Meadow Scene
2. The casting of Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen
3. The cool soundtrack of Twilight. I instantly fell in love with the Muse band for the "Supermassive Blackhole" song
4. The Cullen family casts except for Rosalie
5. The scene where Edward tells Bella the history of the Cullens

Dislikes

1. The casting of Nikki Reed as Rosalie (Not because I don't like Nikki Reed but because of description given to Rosalie in the Twilight Saga books. I think above the rest of the characters she was the one miscasted)
2. Some scenes in the movie are not found in the book
3. Scenes not included in the movie (who am I to contest, the director squeezed the whole book in 2hours worth of movie)
4. The costumes and the wigs (while on the book, they all look like sophisticated people)

NEW MOON

Likes

1. The casting of the wolf pack
2. The casting of the Volturi. They fit the description of the menacing Volturis. I like the participation of Dakota Fanning as Jane and Michael Sheen as Aro
3. The CGI effects in the movie. I really love how the wolves "transformed"
4. The more sophisticated look of the Cullen family (just like what is stated in the book)
5. The scene where Bella falls into depression. They really capture the emotion while doing the 360 degrees shots of how time passes while Bella is sitting in the chair
6. How Charlie depicts his characted in the book as doting dad
7. The wolf pack's abs and muscles (yummy!) :D
8. The trailer that makes you drool in anticipation

Dislikes

1. The soundtrack. I still like the Twilight soundtrack over New Moon
2. Edward's body. I'm on team Edward but I just don't like the make up they put on his abs. :P
3. I still don't like Rosalie. I know Rosalie is mean on the series but I remember in the Bella's birthday she's a little friendly to Bella (or is it my imagination?).
4. How Harry Clearwater character came in. I know in the book he's one of Charlie's bestfriends aside from Billy Black
5. The spoilers in the trailers. All the key scenes in the movie are already shown in the trailers. Now I understand why one of my friends really tried hard to control not to watch the trailer because she don't want to spoil her excitement in watching the movie.

The Perfect Volturi Casts

The drool worthy wolf pack!

Additional remarks:

I like the Twilight series and seriously, I really like both movies. Although New Moon is my least favorite book among the series (because of few Edward moments) but I do appreciate Chris Weitz depiction of the movie largely based on the book. It's not that I hate Catherine Hardwick but some of the scenes in Twilight movie are not mentioned in the book. In short Catherine Hardwick created her own Twilight version.

Another thing is, although there are lots of Twilight fans, there are also lots of Twilight haters who does nothing but to rant in the forums and threads how the movies and novels suck. I would like to take the opportunity to tell some that their problem is very simple... If they don't like a certain novel or movie, then don't read it or watch it. You just can't simple spoil the enjoyment and fullfillment other fans got from watching and reading the Twilight Saga. It just shows that they have shallow minds and wants to attract attention by just being different.

For me, if I don't like a certain things or activities I don't do it. If a certain book doesn't interest me, I DON'T READ THEM. If a certain movie doesn't interest me, I DON'T WATCH them. If a certain activities bored me, I DON'T DO THEM. And if a certain place doesn't sounds good to me, I DON'T GO THERE. In tagalog, "WALANG BASAGAN NG TRIP!"

ok till next post
